WHO WE ARE
Investing In The Future With The Wisdom of Experience
The Pearl Fund is a pioneering investment firm specializing in structured, tax-advantaged strategies designed to build and preserve long-term wealth.
We focus on high potential, early stage investments with transformational potential—delivered through disciplined, institutional-grade investment vehicles that can deliver significant tax free returns for long term holders.
We are known for seeing and acting on things before most others. We first invested in Bitcoin over 10 years ago, we created the first tax-free Venture Capital Funds (via the Opportunity Zone Program) in the U.S., and we continue to lead with integrity, innovation, and intention.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Tax-Free Wealth Creation Through Structure, Strategy, and Time.
At The Pearl Fund, we believe great investments are built like pearls: slowly, deliberately, and with care. We don’t chase trends—we design long-term strategies that eliminate capital gains taxes, protect downside, and unlock upside over time.
Whether it’s through private businesses or Bitcoin, our mission remains the same: to preserve more of what investors earn, while positioning them for the future.
OUR EXPERIENCE
Proven Leadership in Tax-Efficient Investment Innovation
The Pearl Funds were founded by Brian P. Phillips, a early Bitcoin investor (2013) and nationally recognized investor, entrepreneur, and advisor in high potential, early stage, tax-free investments. As the creator of the first Opportunity Zone Venture Capital fund in the country, Brian has been ranked by Forbes as one of the top 10 OZ fund managers in the country and has helped shape the national OZ business landscape.
We’ve advised Fortune 500 companies, launched top-ranked venture funds, and maintained a consistent commitment to investor-first, impact-driven results.

Brian has a unique background and rare blend of skills ideally suited to lead The Pearl Fund. Over his 30-year career, he’s been an early-stage entrepreneur, global expert on economic development through entrepreneurship, advisor to Ivy League faculty on how to convert their inventions into viable businesses and intrapreneur in several global organizations.
Brian has been on the founding teams of a number of fast-growing startups. Two went public, two were acquired and one was sold via an MBO. As a founding CEO, he has raised over $33M in venture capital. Of course, not all his startups were successes. An important part of being an entrepreneur is navigating failure, knowing how to fail quickly and learning from your failures.
After a decade spent working with SME entrepreneurs in emerging countries, Brian learned firsthand the proven fact that the best way to improve an emerging economy is through entrepreneurship. He was a consultant for Endeavor Global, became the Global Head of Entrepreneurship at Technoserve and then worked for Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Women, an initiative that supports fast-growing, female-led entrepreneurial ventures in Africa, India, China and Latin America.
Brian is an active member of the Academic Venture Exchange, a collaboration between experienced entrepreneurs and the technology transfer offices at Ivy League universities. Through this mechanism, he has worked with faculty inventors and entrepreneurs from Columbia, Cornell and Princeton Universities.
Brian holds a B.S. in Computer Science and a Master’s in Divinity.
